A Little About Me.........
I am Fiona Catriona Kearney, a Scottish artist living and working in Easter Ross in the Highlands.
I was born in 1962 at R.A.F. Changi, Singapore. I feel so lucky to have spent my childhood in Edderton and Alness; wonderful places to grow up in the 60s and 70s. I am sure my happy times there are a major influence on my work. My secondary education was at Invergordon Academy.
Upon leaving school I became a draughtswoman and hydrographic cartographer, jobs which I did enjoy, however I had always really wanted to be an artist so in the late 80s I went into further education to study art.
I studied art for a year at Inverness Technical College and then Grays School of Art, Aberdeen and became a professional artist in 1989. I work mainly in oils but also watercolour and ink.
Over the next few years I was involved with a number of shows and galleries from the Highlands to the West Country including....Seven Highland Artists - Inverness, Marlborough Studio Art Gallery, Talbot Rice Gallery - Edinburgh, Glasgow Art Fair, Gallery Heinzel - Aberdeen, Granary Gallery - Beauly, Browns Gallery - Tain and The Highland Open.
From the mid 90s work slowed somewhat as my focus changed to bringing up our four children.
More recently my work has been included in exhibitions at the following...........
